Contact Solutions and InfoVoter Help Organizations Get Out The Vote with VoterLink
Cloud-based IVR solution provides voter registration materials, poll locations, and captures feedback on the voter experience; can be customized for target demographics and special interests
Reston, Va, (January 8, 2012)– As political organizers and the candidates head into high gear to motivate voters across the country to participate in our political process, many will rely on a new service in the cloud to support their grassroots efforts. InfoVoter, a nationally recognized leader in the development of election technologies, has teamed with Contact Solutions, a leading provider of cloud-based contact automation solutions, to deliver VoterLink, a phone-based service that helps make voting easier. The VoterLink IVR removes barriers to participation by helping voters quickly obtain vital information and provide valuable feedback throughout the election process.
Political groups, news media, foundations, and non-profit organizations can brand and customize VoterLink to support the needs of their target demographics or special interests and make them more likely to vote. Organizations can select a vanity phone number and promote easy access to VoterLink services at each stage of the election process. For example:
- Prior to an election, voters can call VoterLink to request registration materials
- On election day, voters can get the nearest poll location by calling VoterLink from their home or mobile phone
- If voters encounter any issues along the way, they can call their familiar VoterLink number to record complaints or have their calls transferred to regional Boards of Elections offices
- After the election, VoterLink provides an avenue for organizations to capture valuable feedback about the voter experience as voters call to record opinions and describe events that affected their active participation in the process
“In our society, these types of services are vital to help ensure a fair and equal voting experience, and we are proud to be able to support the process in this way,” said Paul Logan, CEO of Contact Solutions. “The Contact Solutions suite of applications that power VoterLink can scale up or down to support national, state, or local elections reliably and economically.”
According to Ken Smukler, president of InfoVoter, “Since 2004, VoterLink has supported the largest voter hotline in the nation. It allows our clients like The Tom Joyner Morning Show, to provide critical voter support services to civil rights groups including the NAACP and the National Urban League. CNN has used VoterLink to track election problems across the country as they arise in real time delivering content that no other network can match on Election Day.”
Smukler continued, “After the election, VoterLink provides an archive of the voting experience that has been used by congressional committees and non-profit groups to improve election administration systems.”
“The 2012 election is already hotly contested,” Smukler continued, “and we are projecting record call traffic into the VoterLink platform as we close in on next November. InfoVoter could not deliver this kind of vital service in an economically viable model without a flexible cloud-based offering that callers find easy to use. We partnered with Contact Solutions because they give us the capacity to scale reliably and affordably, and their focus on continuous improvement helps us ensure an excellent user experience so our clients can consistently achieve their goals.”
